Spiritual Experience : Feel the Nature

-. Introduction
Through continuously practicing Haedong Kumdo, one may feel the flow of the energy.
By making it stronger through the training, it increases ones power in the art and also promotes health, thus enhancing the quality of life.
Through practicing martial arts, one accumulates love from physical and mental health, recognising the order of nature, and then attaining a level of enlightenment, which is humanity, thereby enhancing one’s own quality of living, eventually reaching the ultimate truth, leading to a happiness, consideration for others and enjoyment one’s own life.
Therefore, it’s essential to enforce the basics of the practice, which builds physical and mental growth.
This can also be said :
The purpose of training or of human life, is to attain happiness based on infinite love through passion, earnestness and purity in one’s daily life.
One may get physical and mental trainings at a martial arts center, religious temples, meditation centers, etc.
To get the practical effects from meditation, the basic things like what to eat, what we think, what we do for good health should be considered first.
Once recognised this makes the meditation more effective.
Meditation is form of prayer, a way of approach to the true Nature.
Meditation without the recognition mentioned earlier just seems to give one temporary relief, but it never goes beyond this, however devoted the practice. One should be careful not to deviate toward the wrong direction.
On seeking spiritual growth through the mental and physical training, one cannot always recognise and choose which one would be good for one’s own body even when selecting the best daily food , however if one pours one’s heart and soul into spiritual growth and the mental and physical training, one can begin to understand the correct way to maintain health by eating the correct foods.
These days many religious leaders in churches, convents or temples are often reported to die of serious diseases.
It proves how hard to keeping one’s own health can be even to those who rank high in religious societies.
Thus it is the task for all of us to seek the personal solution.
-. Main Parts
1) Health
Self-management and time allotment for healthy living is needed.
The first thing is to avoid sickness.
It can be said that improper food and bad or weak character are the causes of all the illnesses.
Food is said to be medicine :
Correct food choice and good excretion function guarantee good health at all times.
The human body is just like an automobile which requires lubricating oil for smooth and continued running.
It can be acquired through learning and practice.
One’s character may be the secret of one’s own health.
When one get angry, thereby creating poisonous thoughts, it is only logical and true that this bad energy will damage our minds and bodies.
Greed hinders the activation of the intestines internally, blocking the ability to build relationships with others.
In the same way, all negative thought patterns will only serve to create social barriers thereby causing all manner of problems and difficulties in our daily lives.
The principles sound easy, but it’s not easy to recognise the basics and the right process, that’s why most people try to continue practicing for the entire period of one’s life.
When the basics have been recognised, such as ceasing silly complaining about trivial problems and learning go to quiet places like the mountains and such like for meditation practice, we can achieve the ultimate goal of contentment and quality of life.
2) Happiness
To feel happy, put your body and mind at ease, and then make your family members and acquaintances around you feel comfortable.
A healthy and peaceful life with yourself and your loved ones, lies in sound thinking, words, and actions.
After maintaining one’s own health, one then may afford to consider others or do others favors.
When one practices toward the right direction, then everyone around the one also feels at ease.
So with sound thinking, one can keep good health and make everyone happy.
Keeping good health is the most basic and emphatic point in all the bibles and religious books and human rights groups.
3) Pleasure
We often say “Try to enjoy doing something.” When you enjoy doing something, then it is also beneficial, for example , enjoying yourself when traveling.
Enjoyment with others is much more important.
With all the intestines in our bodies well-balanced, health is guaranteed.
Likewise, peace and happiness derive from peace and harmony with one another.
Without finding harmony in nature, there will be no sense of peace and also dis-ease.
With the proper conditions, one may really enjoy and achieve enjoyment with others.
This fits into the order of the Nature.
Acting right by the order of the Nature then results in balance and peace.
After one enjoys oneself, one needs to achieve the ability to enjoy with others.
This ability derives mainly from tolerance.
Therefore, all the things that I do directly return to me, so in a way they are just for myself.
In the East many refer to this ’cause and effect’ as Karma.
-. Pracice
Feeling the Energy of the Nature
Lots of body movements are applied in Yoga, Mental Training Camps or similar activities.
Only if you know the correct principle and a flow of energy in ones motion may you be able to apply it
and therefore make the various movements creative and enjoyable.

Fill the body with the energy first.
Try different techniques for those who don’t feel it well.
Some feel it, but some may not.
After persistence and correct training finally nearly all will feel something.
The light is there for all of us from the very beginning, but most cannot see it.
Each one of us can feel and experience depending on their levels of mind and life.
With different minds and levels, different feelings will be recognised.
Relax, Feel the Energy
Relax and try to feel the flow of the energy is the first step.
Next step is to focus and see it with closing their eyes.
They are asked about what they have felt or experienced.
Some only feel it, but are not able to see it.
Some glimpse it; see the colors, but may recoil back from the power of the unseen energy.
Some see things like apples and tomatoes etc. when closing their eyes.
Through experiences like that, now practice has just begun.
Those experiences are in fact good, but aren’t considered to be special.
Some glimpse silhouettes,
Some glimpse the color of lights
Some glimpse moving things
But these phenomena rarely help enhance one’s capability, so don’t waste time by being indulgent with self-complacency.
Just leave them.
These may be temporary happenings in one’s own precious memory.
The key is self-enlightenment of how to build love for the better life through practicing Haedong Kumdo as a trainee of HK.
“Love” is the subject to be discussed in the next seminar.
